In person in Charlotte, and online throughout North Carolina.
You can set up an initial appointment through my contact page. It’s really very simple. You set up a portal, and then you will have access to the calendar. No need to call the front desk or anything like that to schedule.
I work with clients from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Exceptions can be made.
Parking can be a little tricky at first, but it becomes fine after that. Your GPS will route you to the entrance of the parking garage. Do not park in the parking garage. There are visitor parking spaces to the right. See photo.

Park in the blue-lined spaces. There are usually more than enough. If, however, they are all full, then park in the parking deck. You might get a ticket. I can fix it. I know people.
I have an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I also have a Master's and a Doctorate from Pacific University. I am trained as a generalist, which means I can treat a wide variety of mental health issues across the lifespan. I have a specialty practice in ADHD, assessing for Autism Spectrum Disorder, grief, couples, and working with professionals who are experiencing occupational and stage of life transitioning.
For the first 20 years of my career, my practice was primarily, though not exclusively, pediatrics. Recently, I have shifted my practice focus toward serving young adults and adults. Still, I have my expertise in working with pediatrics.
Our first session is really just a chance to talk and get to know each other. You can share what’s been going on, what you’re hoping to work on, and ask questions. There’s no pressure to have it all figured out. Most people don’t! My goal is to help you feel comfortable and understood.
I’m considered an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t bill insurance directly. However, you will receive a “superbill” – a receipt you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. I know that process can be confusing, so I’m happy to walk you through it.
Yes, very much so. I’m a big believer that what goes on outside of the office is every bit as necessary as what goes on inside the office. Homework can take many forms. Sometimes, an actual paper assignment is reminiscent of homework from school. Otherwise, homework could take the form of trying a new activity, working on a communication skill, completing sleep hygiene assignments, or practicing mindfulness.
The list is pretty long.
It’s different for everyone. Some people come for a few sessions to work through a specific issue, while others find ongoing therapy helpful for achieving deeper growth and support. We’ll go at a pace that feels right for you – no timelines or expectations.
Most people start with weekly sessions, especially at the beginning. Over time, some choose to come every other week or check in as needed. We’ll decide together what kind of rhythm makes sense for you and your goals.
Yes! I offer secure video sessions for anyone who prefers meeting from home or has a busy schedule. Some people like to combine in-person and online sessions – whatever helps therapy fit more easily into their lives.
Yes. Your privacy and trust are of the utmost importance. What we talk about stays between us, with only a few exceptions that I’m legally required to disclose (such as if someone is in danger). We’ll go over all of that in your first session so you feel clear and safe.
I work with adults and couples around many areas, such as anxiety, relationship struggles, grief, life transitions, or just feeling stuck.
My style is collaborative and down-to-earth, drawing from approaches such as the Gottman Method and other evidence-based therapies that help people achieve real, lasting change.
You’re not alone. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but most people say it’s a relief to talk openly with someone who’s really listening. The first step is simply showing up – we’ll take it from there, one conversation at a time.
You can reach out to me through the contact page or send a quick message. I’ll respond personally and help you set up a first session or answer any lingering questions.
You don’t have to have everything figured out – that’s what we’ll work on together.
