If this sounds like you

Does any of this feel familiar?

These are the kinds of stories I hear every week. You are not broken, and you are not alone.

Focus & ADHD01

Danny

had always struggled in school. Everyone knew he was smart, and he tested well, but he simply couldn’t focus the way that his peers could. He’d find himself rereading the same paragraph again and again, unable to absorb the information.

Additionally, he was extremely disorganized and terrible with time management, so as a result, he would frequently miss assignments and forget things that were important to him. People began to label him a “daydreamer” and “flake,” and were often frustrated with Danny. But none of that compared to how hopelessly frustrated he was with himself.

Grief02

Kristin

feels trapped in her grief. It had been nearly six months since her son died in a car accident, and she still couldn’t process it. It felt as though she was perpetually walking on quicksand, ready to be entirely swallowed up by it at any moment. She couldn’t eat, or sleep, or get out of bed most days.

Some of the people in her life who initially offered support have grown impatient with her. They feel like she’s not trying hard enough to recover. But that just shows how little they understand the depth of the pain she’s experiencing. The truth is, she doesn’t think she’ll ever be able to move on with her life.

Marriage03

Mike & Allison

aren’t sure where to go from here. They’ve been married for many years, and still love each other, but lately they’ve grown distant and argumentative.

Between the demands of children, careers, the household, and countless other responsibilities, they have no time or energy for one another. Neither of them feels supported or respected as a parent or a spouse, and it was only a matter of time before that sadness and disappointment turned to anger. They aren’t ready to give up on everything they’ve built together, but they know that things can’t continue like this.

More about me

After the first step

This is how it can change.

01Focus & ADHD

Danny

was referred to me by his school counselor, and through a comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation, we determined that Danny had been struggling with ADHD the whole time. Equipped with this information, we helped him develop better executive functioning skills and start on a small dose of medication. Now, he’s able to keep up with school and feels more confident in his abilities every day.

02Grief

Kristin

was lost when she reached out. In our sessions, she soon discovered that this work wasn’t about getting over or past her grief, but rather, learning to carry it in a healthy and affirming way. She found comfort in a support group for other grieving parents. Now, Kristin knows she will always be heartbroken about her son’s death, but she’s proud to be living the life she knows he would want her to.

03Marriage

Mike & Allison

were at the end of their ropes when they called me. Together, we used the gold standard for marriage therapy – The Gottman Method – to address their issues. Soon, they learned to manage conflict, improve communication, rekindle friendship, restore intimacy, and create shared meaning. Now, they feel closer than they have in years and remember why they fell in love in the first place.

Begin

Don’t give up.

You already have the power, courage, and wisdom inside you. Now, it’s time to tap into your innate gifts.
